RESOLUTION NO. 11-01

WHEREAS the employees of City Water and Light have continued their immeasurable support of the needs of the community again during 2011.  Their concern and commitment is illustrated by the following:

▪  Paying $5,000 of the $25,000 Capital Campaign pledge for the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas ($10,000 was paid in 2010)

▪  Sponsoring 10 senior packs ($1,080) for the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas

▪  Giving $100 to the Kiwanis Club Pancake Day

▪  Pledging $130,722.80 to the United Way of Northeast Arkansas

▪  Granting of a $1,000 Arkansas State University scholarship

▪  Giving $10,375 for the operational needs to the Jonesboro Church Health Center

▪  Donating $500 to “Make-A-Wish”

▪  Contributing $100 to CASA

▪  Giving $100 to Juvenile Diabetes Walk for the Cure

▪  Giving $1,250 to The Learning Center Christmas gift program

▪  Donating $750 to the American Red Cross Emergency Relief Fund

▪  Contributing $330 to the Gary Schuchardt Run

▪  Giving $100 to First Baptist Church Care Center

▪  Donating $1,000 to the NEA Children’s Advocacy Center

▪  Providing $500 to the Pregnancy Resource Center for their annual banquet

▪  Donating $2,500 toward a $5,000 pledge to St. Bernard’s Neonatal New Birth Care Center

WHEREAS, this willingness to open up hearts  and pocketbooks in the amount of $155,407.80 to the many in need in Jonesboro is further evidence of the true sense of public service practiced by this entire organization. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of City Water and Light that each and every employee of this organization be individually and collectively commended for his or her record of financial support towards the needs of the community.  You are a credit to this community and to this utility.

CWL now offers free email billing to all customers.

If you wish to have your bill(s) emailed to you, simply email us at cservice@jonesborocwl.org with your account number(s) and telephone number and state you wish to have your bill(s) emailed to you. The bill(s) will be emailed on the same date as other bills are mailed.

Since customers receiving bills by email do not receive the mailed copy with a return stub, paying bills by our convenient bank draft program or other electronic methods is preferred.

If you are not currently on bank draft (a free service) and wish to be, click on “bill payments” and then “bank drafts.” You may print out the form, fill it out and attach a voided check. Please scan and email the form to us at cservice@jonesborocwl.org; fax it to us at (870)930-3353; mail it to us at P.O. Box 1289, Jonesboro, AR 72403 or bring it in to our office at 400 East Monroe.

Commerce Drive Water Treatment Plan

CWL is currently constructing the Commerce Drive water treatment plant and wells.  When completed, this should assure adequate water capacity for years to come depending on usage growth.

Electric/Water Peak

CWL reached a new all time electric peak of 303.0 MW on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 4:00 p.m.  Our previous peak was 289.00 MW on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 4:00 p.m.

CWL reached an all time winter electric peak of 233 MW on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 (11º) at 8:00 a.m.

CWL  reached an all time daily water peak of  28.034  million gallons  on June 19, 2010.   Our previous peak was 25.279 million gallons on August 22, 2007.
